6 months ago I decided to start compiling my resources on what I have learned in the endurance space. I was surprised to see how much information I had in my hands. It was humbling in a way.
I am a dedicated student but have never been so eager in a class as I have been learning how to become a well-rounded endurance athlete. I knew with this feeling, I had to do something with the information.
A few emails and online contacts led me to a writing contract with the HowExpert series to develop a triathlon training and racing guide. I could not turn this down!
My book, in collaboration with HowExpert, HowExpert Guide to Triathlons: 101+ Tips to Learn How to Train, Race, and Succeed in Triathlon is available now. The initial rollout is digital only and the Amazon, Apple, and Google links are at the bottom of this post. A print version will be complete soon. I do not have control over the rollout.
Now, before you say “Max, can you really be an expert here?” I want to clarify a few things.
I certainly do not know everything, but I have to start somewhere.
This is capitalizing on an opportunity to grow, not purporting that I have all of the answers.
The project served a few purposes for leveling up my presence so that I can bring more to the table in the future:
An opportunity to apply what I currently know and have learned through being a student of the sport
Gain valuable insight on how to tackle a BIG project
Gain valuable insight into areas where I had or still have gaps in knowledge
Getting comfortable acknowledging that this work is imperfect
I welcome any feedback on this publication. Tell me what you like or grill me in the reviews. Both are helpful!
